Created north of Cambridge, Rectory Farm’s Milton Maize Maze offers a super summer of fun
We set-off on one of the hottest days of the year, three 11-year-old girls and a two-year-old boy in tow, for a hot day at Milton Maize Maze in Cambridgeshire.
We arrived for the opening at 10am and the staff were fantastic all day, very friendly and caring to all the visitors, they showed genuine concern in the hot weather, and there was a special place to replenish water bottles for free!
The first thing we did was that Jet, 2, and his mum, Mel, tackled the Mini Maze, followed by a cooling Tractor Ride. Meanwhile myself and the three girls set about the giant 7 acre Magical and Mythical Unicorn Maize Maze, where we collected six of the ten stamps in just under two hours, but it was almost noon and we were concerned our picnic was going to go off in the heat, and it was seriously hot in the maze by now, so we decided to leave and head for Water Wars to cool down.
It was rather a mission to find the exit from the maze, and at one point I thought we may need to call for help, but finally we made our way out and came across a wonderfully conceived unicorn at the exit. We were all overjoyed, it was really a very exciting surprise.
Finally, once out the girls got into their swimmers and were in Water Wars having a super cool experience sling shooting water bombs at each other, they all loved this and rated it 10 out of 10.
We had a lovely picnic under shady trees on the tables provided, however you won’t go hungry as they have a daily BBQ on The Field of Fun, and sell coffee and cake in The Old Dairy Café where the girls enjoyed buying slush puppies to cool down before completing the obstacle course.
It was a thoroughly good day though, the maze was wonderful and we were sorry not to have completed the quiz/stamps, but there is always next time, we would all love to return.
The eventswhatson.com team had a super day out and highly recommend it for all ages, both girls and boys!
All of the attractions in the field of fun are included in the entrance price.
