East Anglian Air Ambulance
Are you brave enough to take on the challenge?
Only the Brave, East Anglian Air Ambulance’s obstacle course challenge event, is back for the second year, taking place at the Elveden Estate near Thetford on 1st and 2nd April 2017 to raise money for their life-saving charity.
Last year, places sold out in just two months with over 1200 people across the region taking part, raising over £110,000 which has helped to go towards funding our lifesaving work across the East of England.
There will be six races in total over the weekend with three each day. People can enter individually or as part of a team and they can choose between a 5 or 10 mile mud run with over 40 obstacles; running, crawling, climbing, and scrambling to the finish line. And this year, it’s bigger, better, and muddier than ever before!
East Anglian Air Ambulance needs to raise over £11m this year to keep its helicopters in the sky and Only is the Brave is one way to help achieve this.
One sign-up fee for Only the Brave can buy 15 minutes of helicopter fuel or a blizzard heat blanket to keep patients warm.
Only the Brave is inspired by EAAA pilots, doctors, patients and families. They amaze us because they overcome physical and emotional obstacles every single day. They tell us that it’s not the obstacles you face, but the way you deal with them that counts and that’s the attitude participants will need to complete Only the Brave.
EAAA’s critical-care paramedic Rob Riches took part in Only the Brave last year. He said “We can’t continue our lifesaving work without the generous donations of people in the region. Every single person who donates to EAAA is a lifesaver! Only the Brave is a fantastic way to raise a lots of money to keep our teams of skilled clinicians able to attend some of the most seriously ill patients in East Anglia.”
