Event Description

Roger Monkhouse is Custard’s September headliner at Comberton!

On Friday September 13th, Custard Comedy is delighted to welcome Roger Monkhouse to Comberton Sports and Arts. Doors are at 7.45pm and the fun starts around 8.15pm.

Roger Monkhouse is one of the most original and distinctive acts on the comedy scene. A consummate stand-up who employs a deadly combination of charm and menace to exert a masterful control over any audience. A highly original and quirky performer, Roger’s trademark stage-prowling style and curious, inimitable manner have established him as one of the hottest names on the comedy circuit.

Distinguished as a comic by his eloquence and keen eye for a fine phrase, Roger’s easy observational style is spiked by the signal flares of an accomplished gag writer. “His laconic delivery shields an engaging persona and an enquiring mind” The Guardian.

Patrick Draper first nonchalantly ambled onto the stage in October 2011, he has cemented his place on the UK comedy circuit with a mixed bag of deadpan jokes, visual gags and songs. Patrick can now be found making people laugh in some of the most prestigious comedy clubs all over the UK. “His unenthusiastic style has a nice, unhurried rhythm…” – Steve Bennett (Chortle)

Despite only performing his first gig in June 2013, George Rigden is already one of the most exciting, hotly-tipped and sought after new acts on the UK comedy circuit and frequently gigs up and down the country for the countries leading clubs and promoters. “Very funny stuff” Chortle.

Our MC is Jonathan Elston. At just 28 years of age, Jonathan is a fresh, punchy, gag-driven comic who combines sharp joke writing and quirky observations with a youthful likeability that charms his audience and endears him to any room.“A young comic with incredible talent and natural warmth” The Guardian.
