Event Description

This is a rare opportunity to capture the beautiful grounds designed by the famous 18th Century Landscape Architect, Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. Redgrave Park was once the site of a Palladian-Style Hall and although this original hall no longer stands, the park has lost none of its beauty or grandeur and consists of woodlands, pasture, a 45 acre fishing lake, a grade II listed Boathouse and the jewel in its crown, a grade II listed octagonal Georgian Folly.

Located close to the Norfolk border, 5 miles west of Diss and 17 miles east of Bury St Edmunds. The Park is in private ownership and rarely available for members of the public to visit. During our painting day artists will have the opportunity to choose their view and capture the tranquillity and beauty of this Suffolk gem. The painting day is planned for 10 am to 5 pm but for those with ample time, you will be allowed to paint into the sunset hours and return again the following morning for the sunrise.

The numbers for this day will be limited so we urge you to book early. Tuition is available from Rob Nelmes, award-winning en plein air painter (please book this package – only 6 places available). Refreshments will be available to you throughout the day and a packed lunch can be pre-booked for those unable to bring their own.
