Event Description

Come and learn from professional artist, Lyn Bird for our Drawing Workshop (adult only) to develop sketching skills. Explore working with limited light and visibility. No prior artistic skill is required, just an enthusiasm to have a go.

Taking inspiration from Henry Moore’s coal mining drawings, we will be working in dim lighting.  Recreating a “mine shaft” using lanterns and torches. Complete with an actor portraying a miner to get as close as we can to Henry Moore’s drawing experience. Our artit, Lyn, also happens to be blind, so is an excellent artist to learn from when it comes to creating art when visibility is difficult.

This Dark Drawing Workshop (adult only) will give participants a chance to learn or develop artistic skills as they imagine and appreciate the challenges of creating art in low light conditions.

The class will include professional instruction in sketching with pencil and charcoal, as well as a chance to work with water colours.
