The Suffolk Show
Families should come and have-a-go at this year’s Suffolk Show
Nine rings packed with amazing entertainments and displays, 700 stands offering outstanding chances to shop for not-on-the-high-street items, amazing street acts, locally produced delicious goodies to eat and drink, hundreds of have a go activities and a celebration of food and farming make this year’s Suffolk Show one not to miss! Children under 15 come free!
Headlining the Grand Ring on both days is the amazing Devil’s Horsemen who have wowed filmgoers across the globe with their equine stunts in War Horse, The Muppets and Les Miserable, not to mention TV’s Game of Thrones. They’ll be stunning crowds with their Jousting and Cossack displays.
At its heart, the Show celebrates food and farming. The Farm Discovery Zone is the show-stopping interactive area to see farming at work – cows milked, sheep shorn, chicks hatching in incubators, cook up a family pizza, hold and touch different large and small animals and discover more about how vegetables grow and sit-in some state-or-the art machinery – or discover the fun of being a Young Farmer with clubs from throughout the county.
“Everything that you see going on in the fields as you travel around Suffolk is not at arm’s length but here for people to touch and experience,” said Show Director Bill Baker. “This is a great chance for all the family to experience why farmers love farming and have-a-go!
”The Adnams Food and Drink Experience hosts wonderful local food and drink producers and a chance to taste before you buy, Eat Street is a great place to find lunch or a snack and coffee and there are new catering and picnic areas to sit and relax.
The Sports Zone has 30+ sports to try out for free, a focus on the women’s and men’s cycle tours, both coming to the county later this year, a Women on Wheels scheme, as well as the national #thisgirlcan campaign and free MOT health check.
Children can become nature detectives, meet alpacas and birds of prey in the expanded Countryside village, or stroke rabbits in the Rabbit Show and be mesmerised by the skills of tropical birds in the Parrot Show.
Mix all this with more than 2500 cattle and horse entries and top class international show jumping and showing and it’s a fantastic day out for all the family. Gates open from 7am. Kids under 15 are FREE!
