The Lexden Crown holds a tradition of hospitality since 1851 when it was first established as a local beer house.

After a number of years of closure, restaurateurs Patrik & Joanna Minder refurbished & re-opened The Lexden Crown in Spring 2010, providing a relaxed, bistro dining experience for local residents & those from further afield to enjoy.

Using locally sourced ingredients, The Lexden Crown offers a range of home-cooked dishes

with chef specials available every day, complemented by a good selection of wines, beers & local ales. A choice of traditional roasts, including vegetarian, are available every Sunday & alongside the A la carte menus, a children’s menu & a party menu for larger groups are also available. Light drinkers are welcome with a selection of freshly prepared bar snacks & light lunches available for a quick bite!

The Lexden Crown takes pride in providing friendly, welcoming service from the moment of arrival & the team are happy to accommodate special requests & dietary requirements to ensure your visit is both relaxing & enjoyable. A VIP scheme is also available to all patrons, providing dining rewards & special offers to regular visitors.

 

Offering a partial booking policy, The Lexden Crown provides guests with the flexibility to book in advance or simply pop in as you wish, providing a choice of 3 dining areas as well as the delightful sunny walled garden to the rear of the pub. Open daily for lunch & evening meals, exclusive hire is also available during the afternoon closure between 3.30pm – 5.30pm.

The Lexden Crown is ideally placed for visiting local attractions or popping in to Colchester Town centre; the pub is close to the A12 & the number 65 bus stops outside The Lexden Crown, coupled with direct routes to Colchester North, Colchester Town & Marks Tey train stations.
