Safe and accessible half day and all day private tours on the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads in two purpose built motor cruisers.  The boats have been purpose built:

  • there are no steps to negotiate;
  • a sturdy hydraulic platform lift moves passengers from deck level to the cabin;
  • there are gently sloping ramps and a wheelchair is kept on board for people who experience discomfort on slopes;
  • the boats have open plan interiors and a toilet compartment large enough for a wheelchair and carers, with a flush WC, fold down rails and a spacer.

Groups of all ages and abilities are welcomed. At least one person must meet our eligibility criteria (difficulty using a standard boat through any type of impairment) to qualify for our subsidised rates.

Private Charters may be available for groups not eligible for our subsidized cruises – please enquire.

Each cruise is private – just one customer group onboard. This means that we can tailor the cruise to your specific requirements on the day. Groups may be of up to 12 people, up to 6 of whom can be in wheelchairs.

Cruises may be half day or all day. Morning cruises are available between 10am and 1pm; Afternoon cruises between 2pm and 5pm; and All Day cruises between 10am and 5pm.

Safety is a primary part of cruising with Waveney Stardust. Our volunteers are trained and at least one will hold current Helmsman and First Aider certificates. Risk Assessments, certifications, licences and insurances are reviewed regularly and available for inspection on our website or by request.

We operate from Beccles, Stalham, Brundall and Norwich at different times through the year.  Our website includes details of our locations and tour availability.

Anyone can book with us. We take bookings from care homes, support groups, families, schools, private parties, clubs, associations,  and community groups.

A typical cruise is one in which everyone has a great time in a safe and relaxed environment. Please see our video of a typical cruise. Tea and coffee are included in your cruise. Many people bring picnics to eat underway or onboard (we have crockery and cutlery on board) whilst others choose to stop at one of the many waterside cafes, inns or restaurants.
