Racing ahead at Market Rasen Racecourse
Market Rasen Racecourse offers a thrilling day out for everyone throughout the year, with some of the best horse racing over jumps in Britain and music events with Olly Murs and Kaiser Chiefs.
Here are just some of the highlights. And remember, accompanied children are admitted free of charge to all fixtures, with the exception of the concerts.
£12 Admission County Days
During midweek fixtures, which make up 40 per cent of the 22-meeting calendar, the track adopts a ‘one enclosure’ policy, meaning everyone can enjoy the best that’s on offer for a very affordable price. Adults pay just £12. Young adults aged 18 to 24, who register for a pass, get in for £6. Accompanied under 18s are admitted free of charge. Everybody can utilise the County Enclosure, with the best views, bars and eateries – as well as the rest of the racecourse, including watching the horses in the parade ring, visiting the Winners Enclosure and cheering your chosen horse home at the winning line.
Stuck for ideas on a Sunday? On Super Sundays the racecourse has a three-enclosure system with a wide selection of bars and eateries as children’s entertainment as standard.
Keep the kids entertained at three fantastic family fun days – on Easter Monday, 17th April, Sunday, 9th July and Sunday, 6th August. The family extravaganzas offer entertainment including a family treasure hunt, kids racing on the track, fun fair, plus guest appearances at intervals from Bing & Flop (Easter Monday), Paw Patrol (9th July) and Paddington (6th August).
On Friday, 2nd June Olly Murs will be performing live after racing on the first Ladies’ Day. Everybody is welcome to come and enjoy brilliant racing, the best fashion and the music. Betfred & Lincs FM Summer Plate Ladies’ Day is on Saturday, 22nd July, when visitors can be in line for a style award. Dress to impress, bring your partners and friends to this fabulous social outing. Be entertained by Lincs FM after racing with a DJ, enjoy Pimms on the lawn and watch the famous Summer Plate race which is broadcast live on ITV4.
Jockey Club Live
After attracting modern-day record attendance for Sir Tom Jones in 2015 and Jess Glynne last year, the star attraction for 2017 is Kaiser Chiefs in concert on Saturday, 19th August.
Book early for the best discounts, great racing, pub games, beer festivals and a Bobby George darts challenge. These are on Saturday, 30th September and Saturday, 21st October. Group discounts are available.
Family Boxing Day
Christmas horse racing is as much a part of the festive season as turkey, mulled wine and crackers. There’s a packed programme of jump racing, including the annual Clugston Lincolnshire National.
