The Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch recently announced that former Blue Peter presenter and Olivier Award nominated actor Peter Duncan will be starring in Million Dollar Quartet when it comes to the theatre on 25 – 30 September. The theatre is delighted to share the casting announcement of the four rock’n’roll icons in this Broadway and West End smash hit musical.

Joining Peter Duncan, who will be playing ‘Father of Rock’n’Roll’ Sam Philips, is Rhys Whitfield who will be performing as Elvis Presley. His theatrical credits include Jesus Christ Superstar (The Regent’s Open Air Park Theatre); The Commitments (UK Tour) and Close to You (Criterion Theatre).

Martin Kaye is playing Jerry Lee Lewis. Martin played the role on the first North American tour of Million Dollar Quartet, which, after a year and a half, led him to open the Las Vegas Production at the prestigious Harrah’s Hotel and Casino. To date, Martin has appeared in over 2000 performances and was awarded Best Actor by Vegas Seven Magazine in its first of four years in Las Vegas.

Robbie Durham performs as Johnny Cash. His stage credits include Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace); Sunny Afternoon (Harold Pinter Theatre); Dreamboats and Petticoats (West End & UK tour) and Broadway to West End (Drury Lane Theatre).

Million Dollar Quartet presents a score of more than 20 classic rock ‘n’ roll hits including Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog, I Walk The Line and Great Balls of Fire.

Audiences will be transported to 4 December 1956, one of the most famous dates in music history. It’s the night that rock ’n’ roll pioneers Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins jammed together for the first and only time in Sun Records Studios in Memphis, Tennessee, creating music history.

Million Dollar Quartet runs at the Queen’s Theatre Hornchurch from 25 – 30 September. Tickets are £18.50 – £30 and can be purchased by calling the Box Office on 01708 443333, in person at the theatre or online at queens-theatre.co.uk.
