More exciting music news for you from Bury St Edmunds Rock City!
Following an evening of riotous theatrical rock last Saturday night (care of METROPOLIS, THE THINKING MEN, DRUIDS, FINAL TRANSMISSION and THE LOBSTER SMACK), the Bury Fringe Festival 2017 continues on Saturday 15th April at The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds with the debut EP launch party for local punk heroes GAFFA TAPE SANDY.
Saturday 15th April
Bury Fringe Festival at The Hunter Club, Bury St Edmunds
Formed in 2015 by three friends with a desire to do something loud and exciting, GAFFA TAPE SANDY’s popularity quickly escalated thanks to a series of incendiary live shows and a seemingly endless succession of instantly memorable garage-punk tunes. Working with rising producer-star George Perks (SuperGlu, The Darkness, Johnny Borrell) at London’s legendary The Crypt studio, their first single ‘Smart Dressed Guy’ was released in February 2016 to critical acclaim, airplay and support from BBC Introducing in Suffolk, and high-profile supports for Buzzcocks, Idles and SuperGlu. Their debut EP, the 6-track ‘Spring Killing’, is released on 14th April as a CD and download.
Supporting GTS on the night will be furious hyper-punk foursome CHEAP HEAT, BurySOUND 2017 winners TUNDRA, marvellously misanthropic London indie-pop outfit FIGHTMILK and heartbroken country-punk heartthrob DEXY.
A new Gaffa Tape Sandy song, ‘Water Bottle’, is available as a free download from their Bandcamp page:
