ELY BIZMUMS re-launch

Bizmums are thrilled to announce the huge success of ELY BIZMUMS re-launch last Thursday 11th May. They had an overwhelming attendance of 21 new ladies from Ely join them at The Grand Central Bar to hear from expert Jane Weston on financial planning for the future and all eventualities. The meeting was well-supported by the lovely staff at The Grand Central Bar, and parking facilities kindly supported by The Cutter Inn also, so a massive thank you to them for making the meetings possible. It was a thorough and very buzzy meeting. Ely certainly is hungry for business opportunities and it was amazing to see everyone and hear of such talented women doing business in a variety of ways.

The next Ely meeting is on June 8th 2017 at The Grand Central Bar.

The expert speaker will be the inspiring Andrew Manig of ‘Manig Business advice and training Ltd’ who specialises in helping new businesses to start; with advice, support, guidance and training. Andrew runs his highly acclaimed 6-day training programme across Cambridgeshire, and Bizmums are fortunate enough to have him joining them to discuss planning ‘growth and expansion’ of business, which is their June monthly topic.

BIZMUMS is a social enterprise designed to connect and inspire mums and ladies in business with a fab online network and a great meeting agenda. It was formed in 2012 spearheaded by Michelle Childs, with a prime focus on bringing women in business together who might feel isolated and unsupported working from home.

Last year BIZMUMS came to SUFFOLK as Emma Joy-Staines needed to continue doing business with her children in tow whilst her amputee husband was about to go in for a major operation. Jen Pickering met Emma at one of these SUFFOLK BIZMUMS meetings back in May 2016 when Jen was suddenly looking to consider going into business herself following some family medical issues, meaning a rethink on her 15-year service in the NHS as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse. Jen was signposted to a Bizmums meeting and 1 year on is now loving running her own Business from home around the needs of her young Son, and has also just become Host of the re-launched Ely Bizmums meetings.

Bizmums networking community have had fantastic success at establishing new connections amongst the business community and inspiring many new starters. The membership and attendees are extremely varied with established family business owners and brand new business owners..  In the region they meet in Newmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Ipswich, Haverhill, and again now…ELY!

The meetings are child friendly which is a brilliant much needed opportunity for mums working flexibly around the family. Each meeting begins with a 60 secs intro slot followed by a 10-20 mins expert section and a 5-minute member showcase. The meetings have a fantastic, friendly buzz and the groups are very welcoming. People attend who have never ever considered networking, and others who have done so for years. It is a very generous and supportive environment with a focus on doing business with each other.

As a guest you are able to attend your first meeting FREE 🙂 after that it’s £6 per meeting if you pre-book. Or you can join the BIZMUMS national network for £12 a month and enjoy access to all meetings across the UK throughout the month alongside the amazing online networking opportunities and incredible support and motivation. There is also a BIZFUND so you can apply for funding for equipment or personal development.
