ANGLIA INDOOR KART RACING!
My friend Steve and I found Anglia Indoor Karting located in Ipswich, to be very fun and a good value for money.
Anglia Indoor Kart Racing has been established for more than 20 years, the karts are well cared for and suited for the well built multi-level indoor track. There is also a smaller separate track for young children that use smaller electric karts (called Kubz carts) so the whole family can enjoy the four-wheeled fun.
After we arrived and were greeted by a very nice and welcoming staff who were very attentive. They asked us to log into the computer system so we could register our info and choose cool racing names, “Stig” was unfortunately taken. After registering and looking around a bit they had us go to the briefing room to have our safety and rules briefing via video. Then it was time to suit up. We were able to have our choice of professional style racing suits along with a helmet and gloves.
There are many different race options to choose from; ranging from arrive and drive 12 laps, to a full Grand Prix endurance race. We chose to have a series of two 12 lap races. After the first set of laps, we were offered a nice cuppa and also computer printouts showing each lap and all the pertinent race data, like lap times and speed, and position. This was neat to have between races because it allowed for some candid “strategy” talk.
We also received our race data later in the evening, in an Email to share with friends.
Being indoors and open until 10 pm, it doesn’t matter if there is rain, sleet, snow or even shine (rare I know), Anglia indoor karting will be waiting for you to claim your checkered flag!
Conveniently located off the motorway in an industrial park, with loads of parking.
Be careful when the racing is over, as you will tend to want to drive a bit spirited when leaving the car park!
