Great Yarmouth Racecourse

In its 302nd year, Great Yarmouth Racecourse is positioned on the northern edge of the town, just a few minutes’ walk from the beach. As one of only three racecourses with a straight mile, Yarmouth is an important racing venue in both trainer’s and spectator’s calendars.

Owned by Great Yarmouth Borough Council and leased to the Arena Racing Company (ARC) since 2002, Yarmouth is a significant track for Maiden races. Some exceptional horses have started their career at the course, including seven-time Group 1-winning filly Ouija Board and Dubai World Cup Winner Dubai Millennium, who both won Yarmouth Maidens.

Great Yarmouth is a left-handed, oblong course of one mile five furlongs in circumference. There is also a straight course, over which races of up to one mile can be run, popular particularly for two-year-olds.

With flat racing fixtures and live music race nights held throughout the summer until the Season Finale in October, Great Yarmouth racecourse offers something for everyone, from seasoned racegoers to newcomers.
