Event Description

After 16 months Wine Gums comedy is coming back! In collaboration with Custard Comedy and Comedy Market we have organised a great line – up in a beautiful venue.

The Grantchester Orchard Tea Gardens.  You’ll be sitting in deckchairs under an apple or quince tree laughing your socks off!

Headlining we have the very experienced and very funny Alistair Barrie. He has performed in over 40 countries, not recently!!

He has made countless appearances at UK festivals including Glastonbury, Latitude and Bestival. His 2013 and 2015 Edinburgh Fringe shows were runners up for “Best Show Of The Fringe”

Alistair is possibly the only comedian to have performed at both the Labour and Conservative Party conferences!!!!

Opening the comedy night we have the award winning, vegan,  Viking of a stand up, Alasdair Beckett – King wielding his own unique brand of enchanting and intelligent comedy. In 2017 he was winner of Leicester Mercury comedian of the year award. On May 13th 2021 he made his debut on Mock The Week.

There are two middle spots who are Ravi Holy and Janet Garner.

Ravi Holy is a Vicar who may well have you converted at the end of his great set!

Janet, with  her no nonsense, down to earth style, turns preconceptions about “the older lady” on their head. Make sure you don’t spill your drink!!

Nessie Ward and Kirsty Hudson will be MCing and making sure you are having a fun evening.

The Orchard Tea Garden will be selling drinks and food.

Bring Kagools if it looks like rain!
