Event Description

The woods near Croydon are plentiful in wild food; in fact we think they are some of the best woods we have ever been foraging in. There are a huge variety of edible plants in the South East, most of which can be found around the area. Warlingham is within easy reach of Croydon, Sevenoaks, Reigate, Bromley and Tonbridge.
We will meet at the Harrow, the course starts there with a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes, where they relate to foragers. Drinks are available from the pub.
Then we’ll set off on a roughly 2.5 hour walk around Farleigh Common and the surrounding area, teaching you how to identify the different edible and poisonous plants, flowers, fruits and mushrooms that we find.
We will stop along the way for some homemade refreshments such as our lovely wild food soup or elderflower champagne.
After the walk we will head back to the pub for a tasty wild food lunch based on what we have found. This will include some treats made from our recent finds and a wild salad that we will pick on the day.
After the course we will email you a list of everything we talk about on the day; to help you remember what you have learnt.
There are limited spaces available so please book your tickets online.
