Virtual Presents Galore
Date(s) - 20/11/2020 - 22/11/2020
Presents Galore is East Anglia’s most spectacular Christmas fair. The three-day Christmas shopping extravaganza, which is going virtual this year, offers the perfect start to the festive season. Hosting the event virtually means we can bring you the wonderful small and independent retailers who were due to be part of this year’s fair, all from the comfort of your own home
Presents Galore is organised by Racing Welfare.
All proceeds raised by Presents Galore will be split between Racing Welfare and the National Horseracing Museum.
Racing Welfare is the only charity that supports all of racing’s people – including stud, stable and racecourse staff, alongside those working in associated professions – from their recruitment right through into retirement. The charity provides a wide range of advice and guidance services, all of which are completely confidential and non-judgmental. Support is available for a wide range of life’s challenges, including physical health, mental health, bereavement, careers advice, housing, money advice, illness, addiction, relationships and retirement. Racing Welfare’s services are nationally accessible with offices in all of the main racing centres and roving Welfare Officers covering the whole of the country.
The charity owns 164 units of accommodation across the UK, with a focus on providing housing for young people working in racing and those who have retired from the industry which are managed by its housing arm, Racing Homes.

National Horseracing Museum
The National Horse Racing Museum is Newmarket is tremendously proud to support the fabulous initiative that is Presents Galore again this year and of course Racing Welfare. The racing industry like all sporting and leisure-based events have all been incredibly impacted this year to the global pandemic. The economic contribution of horseracing to the UK economy is estimated to be in the region of. £3.5 billion, with over 85,000 jobs supported by the industry, it’s vital we support this now in every way possible and from all angles.
NHRM tells the story of horseracing from its earliest origins to the global phenomenon it is today. This 350-year-old relationship is explored through stunning works of art, contemporary sculptures, breath-taking architecture, through to equine science, some of the world’s most famous racing trophies and unique bronzes and artefacts. Using the latest interactive and audio-visual displays, the museum also takes a different look at the sport, examining the physical attributes of the elite equine athlete and the importance of the thoroughbred pedigree.
