Event Description

A living history Tudor Courtroom event

The year is 1585 and a Justice of the Peace commissioned by Queen Elizabeth I has arrived to hold court.  Come and learn about the intrigues of village life and join in to help decide the rights and wrongs of each case.

Has the landlord watered the beer?  Will Goodwife Manwood be granted a divorce?  Who abducted Widow Besser’s grandson?  Will the village scold be sent to the ducking stool?

  • Chat with the costumed re-enactors walking around the Museum to find out what was happening in the year 1585
  • Become the jury and participate in the court cases.  The fate of the accused is in your hands!
  • Want to know more about the Tudors and Stuarts?  Talk to the red-shirted ‘interpreters’ who will be happy to answer your questions!

Standard admission prices apply. Free entry for Annual Pass holders.
