Event Description

A Talk by Peter Bance

Sikh historian Peter Bance shares highlights in the life and achievements of Prince Frederick Duleep Singh, with a special focus on Norwich. Frederick made an important mark on the city, and was especially instrumental in saving several churches, including St Peter’s Hungate, St Peter’s near Elm Hill and St Swithin’s, which is now Norwich Arts Centre.

This event is part of the Festival of Norfolk & Punjab, which takes place 15 June until 3 August across various venues in Norfolk. The Festival is a county wide celebration of the life and achievements of the Duleep Singh family and their contribution to Norfolk. The ‘Duleep Singhs’ the last Royal family of the Punjab were associated with Norfolk for almost a century.

Free, but booking essential.
