Event Description

Thanks to the lovely human being that is Paul Richards, Custard Comedy is delighted to bring you an evening of shows in aid of Rob Coleman’s Atlantic Row.

They take place at the University Centre Wine Bar on September 27th. Doors are at 7.30pm and the ticket price is just £6.00

We kick off with Comedians Learning How To Play Drums. A musical comedy gameshow like no other! Well, by music, we mean drums. A lot of drumming. Paul Richards is on a mission to turn comedians into drummers. It’s easily done (under Paul’s guidance a typical adult can learn a simple groove within 15 minutes) but can they learn to drum whilst still telling jokes and making the audience laugh? To complicate matters, the audience are invited to suggest different styles of music to play and also different subject matters to chat about. We’ll have some of the most exciting, brightest, experienced comedians as guests, but can they still be funny whilst holding down a tight groove? Scores are awarded for timing: both comedic and rhythmically!

Then after a break, it’s The Complete History of Pop

1 slightly flustered host who has no control over his own show whatsoever, 1 lovely mismatched bunch of singers/comedians who have somehow ended up being his choir. The ENTIRE history of pop music in an hour and a half. Catch the show before it heads back to the Edinburgh Fringe in August for a second year running, join Paul Richards for this joyously raucous sing-along show that covers everything from The Beetles to whoever happens to be in the charts during the week of this performance. “Simple yet imaginative, it’s a charming show that’ll tickle you silly.” – Visit Dublin.

Both shows are in aid of Rob Coleman’s Atlantic Row. Rob is the boss of Custard Comedy and in December he and four crew mates will be attempting to break the world record for a mixed four rowing from The Canaries to Antigua. At the same time they’ll be raising funds for Mind and Combat Stress.

Complete History of Pop at CUCWB, Thursday September 27th. Over 18s only. Tickets £6.60 online from , or from Rob on 07889 176 050.
