Paintings of landscapes, rocks and stones by Linda Anderson complemented with ceramics by Gemma Smale.
There can be a sense of isolation in landscape and it equated to the feeling that Linda had during lockdown. Long walks were the order of the day and she took the opportunity to really look at her surroundings. Overlooking the Mimram Valley at the edge of the Chilterns made for wonderful views, a feeling of space and contrasted with the woodland and river walks where the solitude helped her to re-invigorate and collect her thoughts. Photographs and sketches produced during previous trips around Cornwall and Northumberland were also a great source of inspiration.
“It isn’t what you look at that matters – it’s what you see”.
The ceramics are by Gemma Smale who has a studio here at Parndon Mill and makes hand thrown pottery.
