Event Description

Norwich Film Festival 2018 runs from 6 – 18 November in venues across the city.

Special guests this year include Doctor Who actor, Christopher Eccleston; Academy award-winning actor, Vanessa Redgrave; and Olivier-winning and BAFTA nominated actor, Juliet Stevenson.

We have screenings of all our officially selected short films including special animation, East Anglian, documentary and student screenings. The BAFTA Shorts Tour will return to showcase the winners and award nominees for this year’s Best Short Film and Best Short Animation categories.

Debuts for this year include:

– The reprise of The Noverre Cinema at The Assembly House to celebrate Ridley Scott with an evening of his classic films: Blade Runner: The Final Cut, Alien and a free screening of his first short film, Boy & Bicycle.

– Kids feature film from the makers of Pepper Pig and featuring the voices of Alexander Armstrong and Brian Blessed – The Big Knights will be screening at Cinema City.

– A Late Night screening of our officially selected short films that promises dark comedy, horror and a serial killer or two…

– Industry sessions held at The John Hurt Centre to support filmmakers including sessions from Festival Formula on your festival strategy, Creative Enterprise networking for film and moving image businesses, and a session on securing funds to produce your film.

We are hosting events at venues across the city including The Forum, OPEN, The Assembly House, Cinema City, The John Hurt Centre, The Garage and The Hostry at Norwich Cathedral.
