Date(s) - 06/07/2019
5:00 pm - 10:15 pm
Following on from the success of the last two years, we are programming a music stage outside The Forum to celebrate the Lord Mayors weekend with a line-up of great bands to get you dancing.
The Baghdaddies 9.10pm 10.15pm
Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band 8.00pm 8.40pm
Tibetan Night Terrors 7.00pm 7.40pm
Gladboy 6.00pm 6.40pm
DJ Amy Nomvula 5.00pm 6.00pm
The Baghdaddies’ exuberant and rampant brand of world music is an exhilarating cocktail of Balkan melodies, ska and latin grooves and sizzling brass played with furious energy and theatrical humour, making them as unforgettable on stage as they are when performing as wandering brass troubadours. They take themselves incredibly seriously so you don’t have to. Facebook
Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band
A living embodiment of Rajasthan landscape, a spectacular celebration of its vibrant and colourful lifestyle, their music and dance a heady, exciting and hypnotic reflection of this enchanting region.
With a diverse repertoire spanning Rajasthani folk songs, Bollywood hits, spiritual qawwali, Bhangra beats. sci-fi and intergalactice funk, these vividly costumed artists cover the full spectrum of the evocative and joyous music that governs life in Rajasthan.
Tibetan Night Terrors
Fuseing 70’s disco with soukous and calypso inspired rhythms and harmonies, snuggled in an indie pop cocoon, made from twin lead singers and a rhythm section. Their music straddles the line between joy, utter misery and grotesque romance delivered in an upbeat, melodramatic and comical manner.
From frenetic psych-kosmiche freakouts about cannibalism, to blissed-out bubble-laden performances where the audience is demanded to sit down, UEA band Gladboy’s brass augmented Art-Pop derails all expectations of what a band can achieve in a half hour live set.
