Royal Armouries Fort Nelson
Portsdown Hill Road,
As darkness gathers over Portsmouth this November, the Royal Armouries museum Fort Nelson will be opening its doors for a very special late night opening, offering a rare opportunity for visitors to explore the fort after hours as part of the highly popular national Museums at Night festival.
Behind the doors of Fort Nelson, Miss Cassandra Worthy and her sinister band of Victorian storytellers await with stories of the extraordinary and tales of terror. Whatever you do, don’t say her name and don’t look back in to the shadows to see who, or what, might be lurking… not for the faint hearted!
Those brave enough to join us on the night will be able to experience Fort Nelson when the lights go down and hear the creaks and groans made by the Victorian fort once darkness falls. Visitors will see for themselves how the museum’s character changes dramatically after dark. Perhaps the fort’s own ghosts will join the party?
This special event will take place in the Victorian Redan, an area of the fort not normally open to the general public.
This is an unmissable evening of extraordinary tales in the very unique and atmospheric setting of Fort Nelson. Don’t forget your torch, it will be dark!
Shows: 6.30pm and 8.15pm, there will be a pay bar.
Tickets: £16 per person, suitable for ages 14+
