Mrs Cromwell Kitchen’s – The Festive Feast
Wednesday 4th December 2019, 10 am to 12 noon
Join Nora Gardner, aka The Hungry Roundhead, our local guide and food historian to learn about the flavours and ingredients of 17th Century cooking in England. Visit Mrs Cromwell’s original kitchen to watch old recipes come to life and compare them to their more modern versions. Hear the stories behind them and of course taste the results!
Although Christmas was banned during the Commonwealth, many people still celebrated behind closed doors. Learn about the festive food that would have been enjoyed by the Cromwell family and find out where some of the customs and traditions came from which makes up the Christmas Feast we know today.
