Event Description

Hertford Castle will be hosting two open air theatre performances in its grounds for you to enjoy with friends and the whole family. Bring along a picnic rug or chair as well as a picnic or treat yourself from the food stalls and bar, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

Tickets can be purchased online for £10 (a booking fee of 60pence per ticket will be charged)

Gates open at 2pm, performance starts at 2.30pm

From the moment young Jim Hawkins stumbles upon a treasure map at the Admiral Benbow Inn, he finds himself embroiled in the murky underworld of pirates and soon he is on the high seas in search of the pirate hoard. Once aboard the Hispaniola, Jim becomes only too aware that he is not the only one who knows of the map’s existence.

This theatrical performance guarantees to deliver an action-packed adventure for the whole family. Treasure Island at Hertford Castle includes pirate ships and salty old sea dogs in the Quantum Theatre’s swashbuckling new adaptation of the classic pirate adventure, Treasure Island.

Performance including short interval lasts 1hour 40minutes

Important Information

• Please note that this is an outdoor event and we encourage you to bring along suitable clothing for all weather conditions.
• There is no parking at Hertford Castle for this event, however public car parks in Hertford are free of charge on a Sunday and located within a short walking distance of the Castle. Check online for locations and times.
• Please bring a picnic rug or chair along to the event. Gazebos and tables are not allowed at this event.
• You’re welcome to bring food and refreshments including alcohol to the event. Glass is allowed on site, but we ask you to please take rubbish home with you to recycle. No BBQs are allowed on site.
• There will be food and refreshment stalls at the event.
• Smoking is allowed but not whilst seated, please make your way to an area away from other visitors whilst smoking.
• Only guide dogs are allowed at this event.
• Tickets purchased are valid for the set time and date of the performance stated only.
• Tickets will not be reissued if lost.
• The event will take place regardless of the weather and no refunds will be available.
