Event Description

Friston Open Gardens on Sunday, 16th June is a sociable and leisurely walk through this picturesque village. There will be 20 gardens open of incredible diversity of the small (but perfectly formed!), large, elegant, mature and quirky (just like the owners!) for you to enjoy.

From the Village Green where you can park and buy tickets, it is a short walk to the Village Hall where you can enjoy light lunches and afternoon teas. We have an enviable reputation for hospitality!

Opposite the Village Hall is our church and churchyard standing proud over the village and a haven of peace and tranquillity. From there and a nearby cottage you will be able to see the 30+acres of countryside to be destroyed by the massive substations proposed by National Grid and Scottish Power /Iberdrola.

We have many new gardens for you to visit along with our classics. Some gardens are hidden from view along footpaths. A secret cottage offers a glass of sparkling wine to help you on your way home!

Gardens are open from 11.30am. Parking and tickets, still only £5 per person which admit to all gardens, are available on the Village Green. The gardens close at 5.30pm and the last tickets are sold at 4.15pm.

All proceeds will be to support Friston Church fabric and churchyard.

Do please come and see us!
