Festive Table Centrepiece Workshop

Saturday 14th December | 10am until 12.30pm

Come and join us in this fun festive table centre making workshop. Spend a relaxing morning with family and friends, enjoying a glass of wine and making a beautiful table decoration for your home. Brighten up your Christmas table, windowsill or sit above your fireplace.  The perfect way to decorating your home this festive season. You’ll be nice and cosy in our relaxing craft barn, admiring the beautiful views of the Nottinghamshire countryside outside the window.

Your tutor Kathryn will guide you through step by step, teaching you some floristry basics on the way to create a large or small arrangement. Using a selection of Christmas foliage and cuttings finishing it off with candles, baubles, fir cones and seasonal things.

All tools and materials are provided for you to make your piece, along with decorations to personalise it.

Please note you may wish to bring some of your own decorations to ensure you have your preferred items and colour scheme such as baubles etc.

Perfect for beginners with no experience or skill.

Outline of your morning

10am     Welcome with refreshments and meet your tutor Kathryn

Introduction to tools, materials and floristry basics

Fixing candles into your design

Greening up your arrangement and how to wire and fix items

11.15am     Wine & refreshments break

Personalise your centrepiece with decorations while we serve you a glass of wine made from grapes grown at a local vineyard

Advice on aftercare and if time allows a demonstration on how to make a swag.

12.30pm   Finish and depart with you beautiful centrepiece ready to place in your home

Please note if you prefer not to display in your home straight away, it will store perfectly well in a cool garage or shed until the big day arrives.

Your tutor – Kathryn Skinner

Kathryn’s passion for floristry and deigns is infectious. Being a naturally creative person she enjoys designing arrangements that are soft and natural with a mixture of locally and commercially grown flowers and greenery. Enhancing her passion and skill she gained a distinction at Brooksby College, National Certificate in Floristry followed with by a BTEC National Diploma in Floristry Design. To get the most from her training she worked part time at local shops including Pollen in Oakham and Flowers by Susan in West Bridgford.

Regular creating bespoke wedding pieces she is always keen to encourage her customer to get involved and have a go themselves. As Kathryn says ‘with a few basic tips and some design principles it is surprising what people can achieve’.

To ensure the quality of your personal experience, group size will be limited to 14.
