Event Description

The Dunmow Flitch Trials date back to at least the year 1104, and are unique I the world as far as we know.

Married couples who have been married for a year and a day, or longer, put themselves on Trial to claim that they have never ‘Whisht themselves unwed’.

Held in a courtroom on Talberds Ley in Dunmow, the trials are a cross between theatre, a deadly serious court and hilarious fun. They are unique.
