Event Description

Tilgate Park’s mixture of broad-leaved woodland, heathland and lakes create the perfect environment for a diverse range of wild food and interesting fungi to grow during the autumn months.
The course starts at the Smith and Western with a short introduction on what to look for, and a brief of the general countryside codes.
We’ll set off on a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the park, teaching you how to identify the different plants and mushrooms that we find.
We’ll stop along the way for some seasonal homemade refreshments such as our wild mushroom soup or fruit leathers.
We’ll end the day with a tasty wild food lunch based on what we have found, including homemade treats.
Afterwards, we’ll email you a list of everything we talk about on the day to help you to remember what you have learnt.
