SILVERSTONE CIRCUIT BONFIRE AND FIREWORKS DISPLAY IS READY TO LIGHT UP THE SKIES

It’s 3^rd November for this year’s Bonfire and Fireworks Display at Silverstone circuit to close an exciting day of racing action at the famed Walter Hayes Trophy race meeting.

The Bonfire and Fireworks Display is set to be a crackling evening with a fireworks extravaganza that will thrill and delight all the family. Accompanied by music and lights, this sparkling celebration with the latest pyrotechnics will be a fitting finale to the 2019 race season. Traditional Guy Fawkes Night fare, including burgers, hot dogs, hog roast, mulled wine, licensed bars and much more, will be available throughout the event.

Motor racing fans can also take advantage of the Walter Hayes Trophy racing action that takes place during the day. The world’s largest Formula Ford 1600 event will feature full grids and a busy schedule of racing with drivers from the around the world competing in this prestigious event, a proving ground for young single seater racing talent.

This year’s event will see the Walter Hayes trophy presented for the nineteenth time. Formula Ford began in 1967, and since then has been creating champions including drivers such as Emerson Fittipaldi, Jody Scheckter, Ayrton Senna, Johnny Herbert, David Coulthard, Mark Webber, Jenson Button and Anthony Davidson. Joey Foster (2003, ’04 and ’05) and Peter Dempsey (2006, ’07 and ’10) have both won the Walter Hayes Trophy three times. The current holder of the trophy is Michael Moyers and the Northamptonshire racer is looking to complete a hat-trick at his home circuit, having won the title in both 2017 and 2018.

Tickets for the Bonfire and Fireworks Display cost £5 for adults in advance, with children aged 15 and under free. The ticket is valid from 3pm. Tickets for the Walter Hayes race meeting and the Bonfire and Fireworks Display cost £10 in advance. Tickets can be purchased online at www.silverstone.co.uk.
