On February 8th, Custard Comedy is delighted to welcome Barry Castagnola to Comberton Sports and Arts. Doors are at 7.45pm and the fun starts around 8.15pm.
Comedian, actor and writer Barry Castagnola has firmly established himself as an accomplished comic performer. He has been performing stand-up in the UK and internationally for over 6 years since blagging his way onto the stage at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles. His easy-going (yet very physical) style, mixing personal anecdotes with some sharp topical and political comment, enthuses audiences at most of the major comedy clubs in the UK. As well as being a popular compere, Barry regularly headlines gigs around the country. He has performed in New York, Ireland, The Melbourne Comedy Festival, Glastonbury and The Reading Festival. TV stand up includes The Stand Up Show (BBC1) and Net.Comedy (Carlton). “Such fun” The Guardian.
Main support comes from Barry Dodds. Self-confessed comedy geek, Barry took to the comedy stage at the tender age of 21 and soon had audiences eating out of the palm of his hand. Using his own combination of irrepressibly cheeky, and surprisingly dark material, he quickly found himself taking the national comedy circuit by storm. “Razor sharp humour” Metro.
Plus Tom Taylor. Multi-award winning comedian Tom Taylor has received high praise from audiences and critics alike. His unique brand of musical comedy is smart and silly in equal measure and he boasts an impressive stock of quirky, and very funny, musical one-liners. Tom has also supported Simon Munnery, John Kearns and Abandoman on tour and recently performed on Radio 2 and Radio 4 as part of the BBC Radio New Comedy Award. “Excellent. beautifully daft” The Sunday Times.
Our MC is Howard Read. As a Stand up Howard Read is brilliantly off the wall. Totally silly, songs and jokes and stupidness. The man is a buffoon of the highest order. And in this business that is a good thing. “Genius” Radio Times.
