Esa-Pekka Salonen is widely regarded as one of the most charismatic and inspirational conductors in the world. On Sunday 24 June 2018, he conducts the award-winning Philharmonia Orchestra in the final concert of the 2017/18 Cambridge Classical Concert Series, supported by Boldfield Computing.
Soloist Katy Woolley gives a spirited performance of Mozart’s Horn Concerto No. 4, the composer’s best-known horn concerto.
The evening is bookended by Beethoven: opening with the lively Namensfeier Overture, the concert concludes magnificently with the sublime Symphony No. 2.
After the concert, audience members are invited to attend a Classical Late event over at Cambridge Union, with members of the orchestra. The event is free of charge to ticket holders but advance booking is recommended.
Tickets (£32 – £45, Students and Under 16s £12.50, Under 26s £12.50 in zones B & C) are available from Cambridge Live Tickets on 01223 357851 or online at www.cornex.co.uk
