Cromer Museum

Opened in 1978, the Cromer Museum comprises a tiny 19th Century fisherman’s cottage. Colourful displays chart the town’s history as an early Victorian seaside resort, when it was resplendent with fine hotels and outrageous mixed bathing.

The town is in a geological area of international importance. The Geology Gallery contains a fine collection of fossils, including bones from one of the area’s most famous finds, the West Runton elephant – Britain’s oldest and most complete elephant fossil.
