So far seven of the films have been announced for this year with more to come during the next few weeks.
Leading the impressive lineup of confirmed titles is J.J. Abrams’ latest installment of the epic Star Wars saga, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS,alongside the Tom Cruise classic, TOP GUN,
the brand new live action version of THE JUNGLE BOOK, a nd t he wonderful children’s animation ZOOTROPOLIS.
These great films will be more than ably supported by Dame Maggie Smith in Alan Bennett’s T HE LADY IN THE VAN, as well as the incredibly witty, Jane Austen adaptation LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP and Sir Peter Hall’s classic film of rural suffolk life, AKENFIELD.
Cambridge Film Festival Marketing Manager, Owen Baker said:
“The Movies on the Meadows weekend has always been incredibly popular with audiences, so obviously we are really excited to be bringing such huge titles to
Grantchester this year.” He continued, “ There really is something for everyone, with a great mix of films. Star Wars will look absolutely amazing on the biggest screen and under the stars, and I personally can’t wait to see Jungle Book in such an amazing outdoor setting.
