Cambridge crews dominated Oxford to bring huge success back to Cambridge University and reflected glory to Cambridgeshire and the East of England region in the 164th Boat Race last Saturday!

As well as the reserve crews, first the women’s and then the men’s race were won convincingly in good flow and tide conditions.

The men powered away in stunning and ice cool fashion while still in sight of Putney to take an unassailable lead after their later start time of 17:30.

One man with a special reason to toast Cambridge’s subsequent win was CUBC squad chief coach Steve Trapmore. Steve heads off now to join the Great Britain rowing set up, and said: “With this being my last year in Cambridge, I really wanted the boys to do well. They just stepped up and I couldn’t be more pleased.”
