The first ever WITNEY WONDERLAND will be lighting up St Mary’s Church in Witney, Oxfordshire this Xmas.  Visitors will be treated to see a host of illuminated Christmas trees and magical decorations, arranged around the chapels ofSt Mary’s Church for the month-long Christmas Festival of music, arts and Xmas fun!

This brand new annual event is run by Joss Searchlight, a local children’s cancer charity who provide support to ill children and their families across the region (registered charity no 1141704) working together with St Mary’s Parish events team.

Dianne Parkes, from Joss Searchlight, said: “We have received overwhelming support from the community. Companies big and small are joining together with children’s groups to decorate the trees. We are encouraging diversity, with handmade baubles and bespoke decorations. St Mary’s and Church Green will be beautiful, a real Xmas scene to behold! We wish this community festival to become a tradition, it’s raising awareness

of our small charity and the work we do, drawing a new audience to St Mary’s and giving a great platform for local children to get involved with art & performance”

The six week festival will launch at 6.30pm on Friday, November 30th following the Witney Town Christmas Lights Switch on, at a special evening gala attended by MP Robert Courts and the Mayor of Witney. There will be  performances from comedian Pam Ayres, big bands
