This may be the last chance you’ll ever get to re-live up close and personal, the nostalgic experience of one of the few, if not only, virtually all original 70s chart bands that are fast becoming an endangered species says Alan Williams! An Evening with The Rubettes is a night of hits, and tell it ‘like it was’ tales, by original Rubettes at the Grove Theatre, Dunstable on Tuesday 18 October at 7.30pm.
70s hit makers, The Rubettes featuring Alan Williams, the original vocalist, drums and guitarist, bass guitarist, John Richardson and Mick Clarke respectively, are joined by Steve Innes Etherington on keyboard and guitar, to tour for only the second time since first taking the world by storm with number one hit Sugar Baby Love.
Pop history waits for no one and there really is nothing like the real thing. So join The Rubettes for an evening of all the hits, some album tracks that have never before been performed live and recollections and hilarious anecdotes of the early years. This is including the real reason the ‘caps’ were adopted and what Showaddywaddy and another famous American band had to do with The Rubettes success.
Time travel to the heyday of pop music and enjoy a Juke Box Jive for An Evening with The Rubettes this October. Tickets are £20; for more information or to book, call the Box Office on 01582 60 20 80 or visit the website at www.grovetheatre.co.uk.
