The 2015 Royal Norfolk Show

Review By Chloe Brown
2015

I was born and raised in Suffolk and had never experienced the delights of the Royal Norfolk show until this year. I definitely wasn’t left disappointed!
The show was bathed in glorious sunshine for what was to be one of the hottest days of the year so far. We started the day bright and early by perusing the large schedule of events to try to make the most of the brilliant performances and classes that were being held, as well as making a note of the food hall, shopping and rural crafts hall as must see things to do.
The Grand Ring was buzzing with activity throughout the day with displays from the RAF Falcons’ parachute display team, the household cavalry musical ride, performances from the band of the Queen’s division, and showjumping classes to name a few. The countryside ring at the top of the showground was a firm favourite with visitors and was always busy with people waiting excitedly for the next demonstration.

The pig racing which was a new

addition to the show for 2015, got everyone up on their feet cheering their chosen pig over the finish line followed by lots of laughter from the side of the ring. The Sovereign Quarter Horses and the Dog and Duck show were informative and fun, whilst providing something a little different to watch.

Walking around the show there was plenty to see and do, from the inviting smells wafting from the food hall, to the discovery zone with interactive activities for children and adults alike.

There were row upon row of stands selling everything you could imagine, it was like a shoppers paradise.

So much was going on throughout the day,
I can’t believe we managed to fit it all in.
I would definitely recommend the Royal Norfolk Show to anyone wanting a brilliant day out,
and I would love to return again next year for another fun day in the sun.
